The Eleventh Street Baptist Church can trace its roots back to a little country church in Twitty Texas.  In 1963, after the First Baptist Church of Shamrock voted to start a mission Sunday School, five persons met in a dwelling owned by First Baptist Church and adopted the name Southern Baptist Chapel.  In 1964 arrangements were made with the local American Legion Post to hold services in their building.  That same year the disbanded Twitty Baptist Church building was purchased and moved to its present location at Iowa and Missouri Streets in Shamrock Texas.  Around March of 1965 marked the first worship service in the new location.

Over the next 40 years, the current building has turned into a modern but modest facility with most of the remodeling done during the last 10 years.  Flying over the church you will notice the building is in the shape of a cross reminding us of the sacrifice Jesus Christ made for us.
